Christ Church St Laurence Commemorates The Reformation With The Music of J S Bach

To commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Choir of Christ Church St Laurence and Bach Akademie Australia present a (mostly) Bach concert with a programme that culminates in the wonderful Cantata BWV 80, Ein feste Burg featuring soloists Josie Ryan (soprano), Janine Harris (mezzo-soprano) Richard Butler (tenor) and David Russell (bass) followed by Reger’s choral fantasie for the organ, based on this cantata, performed y Kurt Ison.

Directing the combined forces of the Choir of Christ Church St. Laurence and Bach Akademie Australia is Dr Neil McEwan and directing the Bach Akademie Australia in the instrumental items is its founder and artistic director Madeleine Easton.
