Advent Carols at Christ Church St Laurence

Christ Church St Laurence presents its Advent Carols – a celebration of the beginning of the new church year and of the ‘official’ lead-up to Christmas on the 27th November.

In the church service, the choir, directed by Dr Neil McEwen with Peter Jewkes at the organ, will present music by Tallis, Victoria, Shepherd and Herbert Sumsion (1899-1995), a British composer, conductor and organist who was organist at Gloucester cathedral for nearly 40 years.  Interspersed with the carols will be readings for the season.

The Advent Carol Service is expected to last between 60 and 90 minutes.
