The award-winning British vocal ensemble The Gesualdo Six joins The Choir of St James’ for two choral concerts, Lux Aeterna on Saturday 20 June at 7pm, and Hemispheres on Sunday 21 June at 5pm.
Lux Aeterna features Tallis’ In jejunio et fletu, alongside the astonishing harmonies of Gesualdo in Plange quasi virgo. From more recent times, there is the effortless poetic settings of Joanna Marsh and Richard Rodney Bennett with pieces by Tavener and Morales.
Hemispheres presents a program of rich sacred music.
