SUMMARY:Bach Akadamie Australia Plays All Six Brandenburg Concertos
DESCRIPTION:Bach Akademie Australia under the artistic directorship of Madeleine Easton presents the six Brandenburg Concertos of  J S Bach in an immersive series of concerts performed in Sydney and in Penrith. \nCompiled in 1721\, and presented to the Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt in Berlin\, the Brandenburg Concertos were written for a diverse\, demanding and sometimes daring combination of instruments and represent some of the most jubilant and joyful music of the 18th century. \nNot discovered until 100 years after Bach’s death\, the works are now widely regarded as masterpieces in Western music and human civilisation\, so much so that in 1977\, the second concerto was sent into space on the Voyager Golden Record as a supreme example of human achievement. \nExperience the unbridled joy and musical energy of this music when Bach Akademie Australia presents all six concertos in one concert. \nThe program:  J.S. Bach Concerto No. 1 in F major BWV 1046/ Concerto No. 2 in F major BWV 1047/ Concerto No. 3 in G major BWV 1048/ Concerto No. 4 in G major BWV 1049/ Concerto No. 5 in D major BWV 1050/ Concerto No.6 in B flat major BWV 1051 \nFriday November 14 at 7.30pm The Joan\, Penrith \nSaturday November 15 at 7.30pm The Neilson\, Pier 2/3\, Dawes Point \nSunday November 16 at 2.30pm The Neilson\, Pier 2/3\, Dawes Point \nTickets\nhttps://www.bachakademieaustralia.com.au/events\nor call (02) 4723 7600 (Penrith)/ 1800 444 444 (Sydney) \nRead our review of the BAA’s recent concert The Art of the Violin. \n
