Beginning with the intimate laments of Monteverdi and Purcell\, the concert unfolds through the shimmering textures of Schubert’s Nachthelle\, Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri\, Hahn’s French-language Madrigal – “Pleurez avec moi”\, and selections from Mendelssohn’s Elijah\, before culminating in the consoling beauty of Fauré’s Requiem and Sir Arthur Sullivan’s The Long Day Closes. \nPresented in the beautiful acoustic of St Luke’s Anglican Church\, Mosman\, this afternoon performance invites audiences into shared listening — a space for reflection\, connection and renewal.
