SBS Youth Orchestra To Fold

The SBS Youth Orchestra is to disband after 25 years in operation. The training ground for many of the nation’s elite musicians floundered after the death of its founding conductor Matthew Krel. As well as undertaking overseas tours, the orchestra produced three CDs and over two dozen television programmes which continue to be seen today.

The orchestra will give its final two concerts on November 24th at 2.30 pm at the Hunters Hill Town Hall, and on December 1st at 2.30 pm at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, 597 High Street, Penrith.
