J S Bach – An Unforgettable Journey From Birth To Death
In 2023, SoundsLikeSydney’s founding editor went on an unforgettable journey tracing life and works of J S Bach and the places where he lived and worked. Curated by Martin Randall Travel, this is an account of the travel, the artists and the historic venues in which nine concerts were performed by elite musicians, with lectures from Bach scholar Sir Nicholas Kenyon. This rarely offered journey is available again in 2026.
Performers in 2026 include Vox Luminis, Solomon’s Knot, Rachel Podger, Mahan Esfahani and the Dunedin Consort. Professor John Butt OBE joins the group.
As well, there is plenty of time to explore other topics around these locations and composers connected with Bach like Telemann, Wagner and Mendelssohn. It was a well-managed journey enjoyed in the company of other Bach tragics from around the world.
