Live At Lunch Presents Ladies of the Night

Pacific Opera Studio and Jane Rutter present Ladies of the Night: Streetwalkers, Strumpets & Their Suitors! a light-hearted musical exploration of iconic ‘fast’ women in opera and musicals.

Rutter is joined by a superb lineup of artists, including special guest bass-baritone Peter Coleman-Wright AO, pianist John Martin, and rising stars from the Pacific Opera Studio: sopranos Galatea Kneath and Brea Holland, mezzo-soprano Amelia Bland, tenor Michael Kauffman and baritone James Pinneri.

The sparkle of Paris, the drama of the opera stage and the allure of music’s most beguiling heroines take centre stage in this Live at Lunch program curated by flautist Jane Rutter. From fiery gypsies to dangerous seductresses, from wit to whimsy, the concert delves into music’s most captivating portraits of love, intrigue, longing, and mischief. Audiences will be swept up in arias, songs, and instrumental works drawn from opera, operetta, cabaret, French Baroque, and even Broadway.
