Lyrebird Festival Returns In November
November 14 @ 7:00 pm - November 17 @ 5:30 pm
The Lyrebird Festival returns to the spectacular Megalong Valley in November 2024, with music, art, food and wine, talks and nature walks.
Founded and directed by the Bowerbird Collective, this event brings together some of Australia’s finest musician, among them, violinist/vocalist Eric Avery, classical accordionist James Crabb, the Bowerbird Collective, harpist Hannah Lane, soprano Anna Fraser and others.
An iconic Australian species, and an evolutionary marvel, the lyrebird represents all that is sacred in the bush. They can be heard in the Megalong Valley imitating the calls of hundreds of other species, as well as producing their own thrilling sounds.
The Lyrebird Festival brings together art, science and conservation, and includes local culinary delights, intimate, world-class performances and an installation by internationally renowned artist Janet Laurence.
All events have been scheduled to allow for plenty of time moving between each location. All concerts and other events can be booked separately, or together with a festival pass. Pricing includes a ‘Pay what you can’ option.
Highlights include the opening concert Earth Emotions on Thursday 14th, a geology walk, a harp and soprano recital, interviews, sunrise music and yoga and the closing concert The Eyes of the Earth featuring soprano saxophone and strings on Sunday 17 November at 5 pm.
