Sydney University Graduate Choir Presents The Great Ma(y)tinee

The Sydney University Graduate Choir’s 2024 season begins with the Great Ma(y)tinee concert featuring soloists soprano Amy Moore and pianist Noah Peres, conducted by Christopher Bowen OAM.
This year’s lively program features the popular Misa Criolla by the Argentine composer Ariel Ramírez which combines the Spanish language with Argentine and Latin dance rhythms. In contrast, the choir will sing Schubert’s triumphant Mirjams Siegesgesang (Song of Victory), a choral ballad on the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt. There also choral works by Brahms and Schumann, both based on the central European folk tradition.
