TMO’s Cushion Concerts Are Back!

May 6, 2023 @ 11:00 am - May 7, 2023 @ 3:00 pm

The Metropolitan Orchestra’s (TMO) Cushion Concerts return to Petersham Town Hall with singing birds, roaring lions, stomping elephants and even an unhappy aardvark, all played by the orchestra!

Join Zookeepers Sarah-Grace and Nat for this fun concert that promises to fire the imagination in a kid-friendly environment. Including music from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, children will join in the fun as they sing and dance to some of their favourite animal nursery rhymes.

Presented by animated actor Nat Jobe and conducted by TMO’s Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams with The Metropolitan Orchestra, these performances will excite young audiences to get up close and personal with the musicians in each highly interactive concert.

Families are encouraged to bring cushions and rugs to any of the six sessions. The Metropolitan Orchestra’s Family Cushion Concerts invite young audiences and their families to explore each of the instruments of the orchestra in a fun and kid-focused
environment. Each short concert (performed without interval) will ensure children and parents can see, hear, engage and enjoy all of the music and musicians with the added highlight of walking through a live performing orchestra at the end of the performance.

Tickets from $18.00.
