Pianist Tony Lee With The Willoughby Symphony Orchestra

Pianist Tony Lee will join Grammy-nominated Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Dr Nicholas Milton AM and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra to present Bravura, a concert including Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.2.

Winner of the Best Australian Pianist Award in the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition and winner of the Louise Henriette International Piano Competition. Tony Lee returns home following a string of recent international highlights. Bringing his own bravura to the stage, Sydney born pianist Mr Lee has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s finest young pianists. At 28 years of age, Tony has performed across the Asia Pacific, Europe and the USA and appeared as a soloist with the likes of BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Dr Nicholas AM will also lead the orchestra through Zoltán Kodály’s Dance of Galanta, a work that pulsates with Hungarian dance melodies and intoxicating rhythms. The concert concludes with Brahms’ Symphony no 4 – his final symphony and an immortal masterpiece juxtaposing stunning beauty and incredible complexities within a pristine symphonic architecture.
