Room To Move – Pinchgut Takes Up Office Space At Opera Australia

In breaking news, Pinchgut Opera and Opera Australia excitedly announce that Opera Australia has invited Pinchgut Opera to join it at the Opera Centre in Sydney by making an office space available for Pinchgut’s ‘Operations.’

Pinchgut Chair Liz Nielsen says “Over the 14 years that Pinchgut Opera has been around, Opera Australia has extended a helping hand with props, costumes and rehearsal space.This has helped Pinchgut to present 15 rarely heard operas. Now this help has grown.How refreshing to see camaraderie and helpfulness in the Arts.It will allow Pinchgut to have a space for work and meetings with all our team together.” 

For several years Pinchgut has used the Opera Centre in Surry Hills to rehearse its annual presentations This year, rehearsal have already begun for at the Opera Centre for Pinchgut’s 2014 production of Gluck’s Iphigenie en Tauride. 

Liz Nielsen adds “Pinchgut assures its supporters that we will remain as focussed and independent as we have always been. We have always believed in generosity and cooperation within the arts. We are delighted that a company  as large and prestigious as Opera Australia is willing to reach out a helping hand to a much smaller company. Presenting  extraordinary productions  is important to both companies. This office will just make it that bit easier for Pinchgut to keep bringing beautiful rare operas to its loyal audience. Thank you Opera Australia!”
