Celebrating 30 years of excellent chamber music performance in Sydney and around the nation, Selby & Friends’ 2019 season-opener presents works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Smetana. These works are in keys outline a basic musical chord in ‘root position’ – in this case the chord outlining C,E flat,G, hence the title of this concert, Root Position.
Joining Artistic Director/Pianist Kathryn Selby for this stirring program are favourite guests, brilliant violinist and AWO leader Natalie Chee and Sydney Symphony Orchestra Co-Principal Cellist Umberto Clerici.
