The Sydney Consort presents the Australian premiere of Stabat Mater, a religious work for three voices & strings by 18th century Bohemian composer and Jesuit priest Karel Loos. This is part of the ensemble’s traditional Good Friday concert to which all are welcome.
Loos’ Stabat Mater is a powerful and moving composition which paints a picture of the Roman Catholic Holy Week liturgy during the composer’s time. The music brims with religious depth and meaning.
