IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition 2024 Semi-Finalists Announced

The ten semi-finalists in the 2024 IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition have been announced!

Following the heats across Australia, the National Adjudicator, soprano Natalie Aroyan, with the assistance of local state adjudicators, has selected ten remarkable singers who have progressed to the next stage of this prestigious competition.

They are: sopranos Lisette Bolton from Victoria and Georgia Cooper, Ariana Ricci, Eden Shifroni anRuth Burked Molly Ryan, all from New South Wales, soprano Bonnie Staude from Western Australia, mezzo-soprano  also from Western Australia, baritones Jake Lyle and Aidan Hodder both from Queensland and baritone Leon Vitogiannis from New South Wales.

Assisting Natalie Aroyan in adjudicating the heats were Jane Ede and Dr Simon Lobelson in New South Wales, Sarah Crane and Mattias Lower in Queensland, Ali McGregor and Dermot Tutty in Victoria and in Western Australia, Emma Matthews AM and Hugh Lydon

In the semi-finals concert, the semi-finalists will sing two pieces from lieder to arias to be considered for one of five places in the finals. This is on August 18, 2024 at 4.30 pm at the Independent Theatre, 269, Miller Street, North Sydney NSW. Bookings

The finals concert will be on 19 September, 2024 at the Concourse Concert Hall in Chatswood. Bookings
