De Jordaan presents: Il Maestro e lo scolare – Harpsichord Duets

Local Hills boy, Anthony Abouhamad, now co-founder of the musical duo Duo de Jordaan, brings eighteenth century music back to Sydney’s radar with their tour series II, Il Maestro e lo Scolare.

Anthony has partnered up with fellow student of the The Royal Conservatory of Music, The Hague, Adam Jaffe, to showcase their expertise in four hands repertoire on the harpsichord in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Canberra and Wollongong. They have already successfully completed their first ever music tour around Europe where they performed throughout the Netherlands as well as in the ‘Musical Instruments Museum’ in Brussels.

When asked in interview, ‘What do you hope the audience will gain by hearing you play?’, Anthony responded with, ‘We want to stir the audience’s imagination…to let the music take effect and transport them from the here and now…’ It is evident in their enthusiasm and eagerness that Adam and Anthony are truly passionate about playing the harpsichord, and this concert will be the ultimate test of their hard work and dedication.

Duo de Jordaan is expected to bring something unique and powerful to the Autralian stage.
