Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra Takes To The Skies With Mozart

August 24, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra’s upcoming program Tempestuous Skies looks to the skies and to Mozart in two concerts, one in Sydney and one at t in Kenthurst.

Mozart’s Serenata Notturna evokes the light, breezy evening air, written as it was for outdoor performance – perhaps with Jupiter gazing down upon you. That Titan of the sky gives its name to Mozart’s final symphony, undoubtedly one of the greatest works ever written. This program also features the popular Piano Concerto No.23, performed by fortepiano soloist Neal Peres Da Costa, all heralded by the overture to the opera about the carnal, noir-ish Don Giovanni. Heavenly music for a devilish man!

The program: Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART Overture to Don Giovanni, K.527 / Piano Concerto No.23 in A major, KV.488 / Serenade No.6 in D major, K.239 Serenata Notturna/ Symphony No.41 in C major, K.551 Jupiter
