Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney Presents “Pirates”

Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Sydney presents the uproarious comic opera The Pirates of Penzance with a full 25 piece orchestra and performances in North Sydney, Wyong (with the Palm Court Orchestra 2 pm Saturday 24/9) and Bundanon (2 pm and 7.30 pm Saturday 1/10).
Music director Rod Mounjed is joined by a team including director and choreographer Elizabeth Lowrencev, assistant director Dawn Pugh and costumier Sandra Tutt. The cast includes Andrew Pennycuick as the Major General, Tobias Page as the Pirate King and Suzanne Chin and Galatea Kneath sharing the role of Mabel.
With classics like the tongue-twisting I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General andA rollicking band of pirates we, this fifth collaboration between the two legends remains one of their most frequently performed compositions since its premiere in New York in 1879.
