Opera Bites Presents Die Fledermaus

Opera Bites, Sydney’s boutique opera ensemble presents Die Fledermaus, Johann Strauss II’s wonderful comic operetta, in afternoon of hilarity and decadence. This lavishly costumed popular production is performed in an elegant heritage venue as the magnificence of old Vienna awaits! Dress up and go to the ball!

The cast features Samanta Lestavel as Adele, Peter-John Layton as Alfred, Rae Levien as Rosalinda, James Burchett as Eisenstein, Murray Dahm as Falke, Rik Dawson as Frank, Eliane Morel as Orlofsky and pianist Hank Xiang.

In this comedic tale, Gabriel Eisenstein has to go to gaol tonight.  First though, there is a fabulous masked ball to attend at Prince Orlofsky’s palace – THE social event of the season.  Among the (disguised) guests are his gaoler, Frank, his maid, Adele, and even his wife, Rosalina.  When he finally gets to gaol, he finds that someone else has been arrested in his place – someone who was at his house and in his dressing gown the previous evening . . . Join the party and dress to impress for the splendour of the ball.
