NSW Doctors’ Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship

The Sydney Eisteddfod has announced the six finalists selected from a field of 33 contenders in the NSW Doctors’ Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship. They are: 

Mitzi Gardner – Violin 
Andrew Blanch – Classical Guitar
Vincent Lo – Cello
Amy Huang – Violin
Julie Kim – Harp
Jeffrey Cheah – Classical Guitar 

 The NSW Doctors’ Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship Final will take place at  Recital Hall West, Sydney Conservatorium of Music on 19 August, at 6.30pm. 

 

Allison/Henderson Piano Scholarship Finalists

Sydney Eisteddfod announces the 2016 Sydney Eisteddfod Allison/Henderson Piano Scholarship Finalists:

Alexander Yau (Epping)
Kathy Chow (Williams Landing, VIC)
Aaron Liu (Forest Lake, QLD)
Nicholas Young (Carlingford)

Past winners of this prestigious award for pianists aged 16 to 25 include Jayson Gillham, Glenn Riddle, Alex Raineri  and Tony Lee
.

The Final will be held 7:30pm, Friday 26 August at Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Australian Choral Grand Prix Finalists Announced 

Also announced, the 2016 finalists in the Australian Choral Grand Prix section of the Sydney Eisteddfod:

Brigidine College Senior Vocal Ensemble
Endeavour Harmony Chorus
Shine Chorus
Sydney Vocal Project
Coastal A Cappella
Fort Street High School Chamber Choir
Reddam House Middle School Singers
Presbyterian Ladies’ College Chamber Choir

The final will be held at Sydney Grammar School on 21 August, 2.30pm. Special Guest Artists at the final will be the Barker College Copeland Choir, winners of The John Lamble Australasian Choral Championship for Primary/Infant School Choir.
