Vocal ensemble Halcyon presents an evening of ‘simple yet profoundly beautiful’  music when its Artistic Directors, singers Alison Morgan (soprano) and Jenny Duck-Chong (mezzo-soprano)  are joined by cellist Geoffrey Gartner to share some of the intimate musical gems they have discovered over years of collaboration.

Performing on just one or two instruments, the programme includes the dancing and chanting of Ross Edwards’ Maninya 1; the haunting lamentations of John Tavener’s Akhmatova Songs and the sacred medieval melismas of Gavin Bryars’ Laude.

Presented by Trinity Grammar School’s Society of the Arts as part of its 2014 concert series in conjunction with the Blake Prize Touring Exhibition.
