Halcyon’s ‘Life on Paper’ broadcast

Fans of Halcyon can re-live the Life on Paper concert on ABC Classic FM, 92.9 at 8 pm on May 14th 2012. The concert performed in September 2011 at the Verbrugghen Hall in Sydney, features a commission by Andrew Schultz I am writing in this book along with George Crumb’s Madrigals 1 & 2 and Joseph Schwanter’s Sparrows.

Halcyon’s core members soprano Alison Morgan and mezzo-soprano Jenny Duck-Chong perfored with a larger ensemble of 11 guest artists conducted by David Stanhope. Laura Chislett Jones performed on the flutes with Diana Springford clarinets, Alex Norton violin, Luke Spicer, viola,  Geoffrey Gartner, cello,  Jenny Druery, double bass,  Zubin Kanga, piano, Melina van Leewen, harp and Daryl Pratt and Anna Zeltzer, percussion.

Later this year, Halcyon, along withh Sydney Chamber Opera, presents the Australian premiere of George Benjamin’s Into the Little Hill. See:
