IFAC Australian Singing Competition Semi-Finals

The semi-finals of the IFAC Australian Singing Competition are on tonight with 10 brilliant young singers from around the region, competing for five spots in the finals. Accompanied by David Harper, the finalists, New Zealanders Bianca Andrew, mezzo soprano, 23 and Edward Laurenson, 24, baritone; Victorians Hannah Dahlenburg, 25, soprano, Brenton Spiteri, tenor, 24 and Janet Todd soprano, 24; lone Tasmanian Anastasia Bickel, mezzo soprano 22; Jade Moffat mezzo soprano 23, from Queensland and Alexander Knight, 23, baritone, Danita Weatherstone, soprano 23, and Carmen Young, soprano, 24 from New South Wales, will sing in front of national adjuducator, soprano Emma Matthews.

The Grace Quartet will perform as guest artists.

Past winners of the competition have progressed to substantial careers in vocal performance and include Rachelle Durkin, Stuart Skelton, Emma Pearson, Jessica Pratt, Paul Whelan and Amelia Farrugia.
