Music amongst friends
This Wednesday the 12th of October, Selby and friends revel in the camaraderie created by a soprano, a flautist, a cellist and a pianist in their lunchtime concert at the City Recital Hall.
Greta Bradman joins Jane Rutter, Julian Smiles and Kathy Selby in a programme of music from JS Bach to John Corigliano.
Opening the programme Bradman will perform Bach’s Du bist bei mir (BWV 508) and Ich Folge,the aria of naive pursuit from the St John Passion.Tthe three instrumentalists will gather for a Mozart trio, with Smiles and Selby performing Massenet’s Meditation from Thais and Rutter performing Devienne’s Sonate: Theme et Variations in C major for solo flute.
Bradman sings two Vocalise – one by Previn and the better known one by Rachmanninov as well one of Corigliano’s Three Irish Folksongs and Ravel’s Cinq mélodies populaires grecques
