Amongst them, the haunting themes for Sergio Leone’s Westerns ( A Fistfull of Dollars, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, For  few Dollars More), The Mission and Bugsy. Quentin Tarantino used some of Morricone’s music in Inglorious Basterdsand co-artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Hayey Westernra hint at the diversity of his work.

Morricone is to come to Australia next year (alas, not to Sydney) to conduct the Western Australian Youth Orchestra at Sandalford Estate Winery for the Perth International Arts Festival on February 26 and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for the Adelaide Festival on March 2.
