Omega Ensemble Presents Bartók in Contrast

David Rowden

Omega Ensemble take you to Hungarian hillsides, Russian squares and late nights at the Parisian circus with their concert Bartók in Contrast.

Clarinetist and Artistic Director, David Rowden, leads an exhilarating program of twentieth-century works by Bartók, Shostakovich, Poulenc and Khachaturian, covering the full gamut of colour and emotion.

Featuring David Rowden with violinist Anna Da Silva Chen and pianist Clemens Leske, this is music written during the increasing popularity of the clarinet, with its impressive range of colour, emotion and agility. Composers sought new musical forms and sounds, inspired by colourful melodies and rhythms of folk songs, or the bustling sounds of the cities.

PROGRAM
