Pacific Opera Studio Announces 2026 Young Artists
Pacific Opera Studio has announced the names of eleven gifted Young Artists joining its program in 2026.
These emerging artists will be honing their skills as young opera singers and working with industry professionals, gaining valuable performance experience.
Late in November 2025 the audition panel selected potential candidates from over 30 applicants. Since then Co-Artistic Directors Cheryl Barker AO and Peter Coleman-Wright AO have selected fitting repertoire for the new intake in time for the 2026 season launch.
The cohort comprises four sopranos, two mezzo-sopranos, two tenors, two baritones and a repetiteur. Nine are from NSW and two are from WA,
They are: Beth Redwood – Soprano (WA)/ Brea Holland – Soprano (NSW)/ Christina Pilgrim – Soprano (NSW)/ Patricia Turner – Soprano (NSW)/ Amelia Bland – Mezzo Soprano (NSW)/ Angelique Tot – Mezzo Soprano (NSW)/ Christopher Whalley – Tenor (NSW)/ Louis Vinciguerra – Tenor (NSW)/ James Pinneri – Baritone (WA)/ Zachary Ahrens – Baritone (NSW) and Jamie-Lee Xu – Repetiteur (NSW).
