Pinchgut Opera’s Messe de Minuit Now Online

Pinchgut Opera’s recent highly acclaimed performance of Messe de Minuit written over 400 years ago by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, is now available to watch online.

Charpentier wrote the Messe de Minuit, or midnight mass, for Christmas Eve mass, while master of music at the Church of Saint-Louis in Paris.

Professionally filmed and recorded, the concert includes other traditional French carols by Boismortier, Chédeville and Charpentier. Erin Helyard directs the ensemble which comprises Simon Rickard, musette, sopranos Chloe Lankshear and Anna Fraser, tenors Eric Peterson and Nicholas Jones, David Greco baritone, and the Orchestra of the Antipodes
