Sarah Elise Thompson Releases Debut Album ‘self centre’

Composer and pianist Sarah Elise Thompson releases her debut album ‘self centre’ on November 5th in digital form. The seven works on the album include pieces written for solo instruments, trios, and small ensemble with voice and are performed by some of Australia’s best classical musicians, including Ensemble Offspring, Deborah Cheetham, PLEXUS, Dave Elton (Sydney Symphony) and emerging talents Will Hansen, Jye Todorov, and US based artists Matthew Stiens and Huizi Zhang. 

Thompson studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with composer Gerard Brophy, graduating with a Bachelor of Music (Hons). In addition to her composing, Thompson is a pianist, and performs with SPIRAL – a seven-piece composer/performer collective based in Sydney. 

Thompson is an associate artist with the Australian Music Centre. Her scores are available to purchase through their website.
