Academy Award-winning film-maker Sofia Coppola’s sumptuous staging of Verdi’s La Traviata captured live in high-definition from Rome’s Teatro dell’Opera is headed for the Sydney’s Palace cinemas.

Soprano Francesca Dotto stars as the tragic courtesan Violetta Valéry who sacrifices all for love. Alongside her, the tenor Antonio Poli as Alfredo and Roberto Frontali as Giorgio, his valiant father, beg for her pardon.

A collaboration between Ms. Coppola (The Beguiled, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette), Italian haute couture designer Valentino and Hollywood production designer Nathan Crowley (2018 Oscar & BAFTA nominee for Dunkirk ), this unique production was a sensation for Opera di Roma.
