SUGS Presents A Rare Requiem

Franz von Suppé (1819 – 1895) might be considered a one hit wonder for his Light Cavalry Overture but the Australian composer wrote a considerable amount music for voice which included four operettas and a Requiem, a work that is little known to Australian audiences, but one that warrants greater attention.

The Sydney University Graduate Choir and Orchestra under Music Director Christopher Bowen OAM, perform von Suppé’s Requiem with soloists Sarah Toth (soprano), Anna Dowsley (alto), David Hamilton (tenor) and Adrian Tamburini (bass).
