Sydney Consort Presents Music By Bach And Sons
The Sydney Consort presents Papa & Sons in Sydney and Canberra performances.
J S Bach’s fame certainly did not fade in the generations that followed, with his four sons growing up to be outstanding musicians in their own right. Come and see the Papa and his sons have their say in the beautiful combination of harpsichord, viola d’amore and baroque violin with a woodwind instrument – the recorder, creating unique sound and colours.
The will feature one of the most outstanding compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach – Ricercar a 3 & Sonata from Musical Offering, BWV 1079 followed by chamber works by his sons.
As well, the program includes: Wilhelm Friedemann Bach Fantasie in E Minor for harpsichord solo, Sonata for flute, viola d’amore and harpsichord obligato/ Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Duett for flute and violin/ Johann Christian Bach Trio Sonata
