Sydney Eisteddfod Announces Expanded New Premises

Sydney Eisteddfod has brand new premises in Chippendale, continuing an exciting path of renewal and development after celebrating its 90th birthday last year.

The new premises at 45, Chippen Street not only has office space and rehearsal rooms but boasts the Chippen Street Theatre, a fully equipped, fifty-seat black box theatre! This will be used for many of this year’s performance events, as well as small concerts, workshops and master classes.  Guests at the launch of the new premises were entertained by cellist Noah Oshiro and pianist Winnie Su.

Sydney Eisteddfod is happy to be able to offer office space and share the facilities with other arts organisations, with Australian Youth Orchestra and Australian Haydn Ensemble already onsite.

The venue is a short 10-minute walk from Central and Redfern stations. Chippen Street Theatre is also available as a venue for hire, with Sydney Eisteddfod seeing it as a much-needed additional accessible arts venue in Sydney.

The Sydney Eisteddfod runs from May to September 2024, with a program of over 350 events. Entrants have a platform to showcase their talents across high-profile venues in Sydney, including the Sydney Opera House, The Concourse Chatswood, Darlinghurst Theatre, Petersham RSL, and now Sydney Eisteddfod’s exciting new venue, Chippen Street Theatre.
