ABC Young Performer Awards Final looms
This weekend, three emerging soloists will compete for the title of 2013 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year.
Twelve finalists will have been whittled down to three during the course of this week when the young musicians have competed in recital and chamber music events.
In the final, to be held on Saturday 12th October, the musicians will perform a concerto with the Melboune Symphony Orchestra condcted by Christopher Seaman at the Melbourne Town Hall. It will be broadcast live on ABC Classic FM at 8 pm.
The winner will receive $25,000 and the Sir Charles Moses Trophy. The two runners up will win $7,500 each. There are also awards to be made in the recital, chamber music and Australian music categories as well as the People’s Choice Award.
