Album Release: Australian World Orchestra/Rattle – Bruckner Symphony No 8

The Australian World Orchestra is performing again in Sydney. Coinciding with this concert, ABC Classics is releasing its live recording of Bruckner’s Symphony No 8, captured during the orchestra’s 2015 concerts at the Sydney Opera House under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle.

This performance of Bruckner’s grand Symphony No 8 by the AWO under Sir Rattle won the award for Best Orchestral Concert of the Year at the 2016 Helpmann Awards. 

The Australian World Orchestra comprises some of the nation’s finest orchestral musicians who work in over 40 leading ensembles both here and overseas. They convene regularly in Australia forming a thrillingly talented super ensemble of over 90 musicians.
