The Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) has returned from a triumphant debut as artists-in-residence at London’s Barbican Centre, with The Times reporting “Richard Tognetti, leading from the front in every sense, embodies everything that makes his band special” and The Guardian heaping high praise on the ensemble describing a “A performance that buzzed with exuberance and a hint of menace.”

In this first of three seasons as International Associate Ensemble at Milton Court in partnership with the Barbican Centre, the ACO performed three critically-acclaimed concerts which included music by Mozart, Beethoven and indie artist Sufjan Stevens, the sell-out UK premiere of Richard Tognetti’s cross-artform masterpiece Mountain and a collaboration with soprano Nicole Car and musicians from the Guildhall School of Music for a program of Beethoven, Bach, Bartók and Sufjan Stevens.

The ACO will return to London in October 2019 to take up their second residency at the Barbican. The full program will be announced in early 2019.
