Beethoven’s Back! with Selby & Friends

Selby & Friends’ annual foray into Beethoven’s great chamber music is a welcome harbinger of celebrations for the great master’s 250th birth anniversay in 2020. In response to audience demand, Beethoven’s Back!, with Sydney Symphony concertmaster Andrew Haveron, Australian cellist Richard Narroway, and pianist Kathryn Selby, tours in October and November in an eagerly anticipated Selby & Friends season finale.

Beginning in 2014, Selby has presented one all-Beethoven program within each season of six tours of “chamber music at its best”.

Andrew Haveron, SSO concertmaster, is the winner of many prizes, including the prestigious Paganini Competition. He has led the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the World Orchestra for Peace at performed in the internationally televised BBC Last Night at the Proms. Andrew Haveron is a former member of the award-winning Brodsky Quartet and the Philharmonia Orchestra. He is a regular guest with Selby & Friends.

Richard Narroway is a dynamic young talent and major influencer applauded for his innovative projects of traditional and new repertoire. He holds degrees from various US universities and has just accepted a position on the faculty of the University of Melbourne. This is Richard Narroway’s debut appearance with Selby & Friends.

The programme: Ludwig van Beethoven- Sonata for Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 102 No. 1/ Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30 No. 2/ Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 70 No. 2
