Crossroads Chamber Music Festival

Crossroads Chamber Music 2019 festival is in its twelfth year and will be presented by Festival Director Charmian Gadd featuring a brand new string quartet, musicians of international acclaim and a stunning hand-crafted Kawai grand piano – all in a beautiful setting.

This musical gem is the best-quality chamber music festival between Sydney and Townsville and it’s in Gosford on NSW Central Coast.

Born and bred on the Central Coast, Charmian has enjoyed an international career which has spanned Europe, the US and Asia. The London Times wrote: ‘If ever a woman was born to play concertos it is this Australian violinist Charmian Gadd.’ As part of her vibrant musical life on the Coast Charmian is Patron of the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music and Symphony Central Coast.

Charmian has hand-selected the groups who will appear at the festival.

Sydney-based Acacia Quartet is returning after opening the 2018 festival to great acclaim.

Concert 2: Australian piano soloist Phillip Shovk performs Mussorgsky Pictures at An Exhibition.

Concert 3: Paul Goodchild and Sydney Brass

Concert 4 opens Sunday’s programme featuring the original players in Charmian & Friends, a much-loved chamber music quartet.

Concert 5 will be presented by another Aussie concert pianist, living abroad and working internationally Tony Lee.

The finale, Concert 6, will feature the Caro Quartet, a Sydney-based string quartet which comprises members of the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra.
