Congratulations to Isabella Rahme from New South Wales, Noemi Liba Friedman, Jessica Lindsay Smith and Matthew Laing all from Victoria, and Isabella Gerometta from Queensland.

Five of Ensemble Offspring’s core musicians will mentor and perform a new chamber work by each composer, sharing their expertise in working with emerging composers throughout an intensive week of workshops. These performers are Claire Edwardes (Artistic Director, percussion), Lamorna Nightingale (flutes), Jason Noble (clarinet, bass clarinet), Véronique Serret (violin) and Blair Harris (cello).

Prior to the intensive week the composers select a mentor from Ensemble Offspring’s impressive list of international collaborators including Hatched Academy Ambassador Brett Dean, Lisa Illean, Lachlan Skipworth, Gemma Peacocke, Jack Symonds, Laura Bowler and Cathy Miliken.

The lead mentors throughout the intensive week are Artistic Director and percussionist Claire Edwardes and former Artistic Director and composer Damien Ricketson.

The week will culminate in the Hatched Composer Showcase, premiering all five pieces at the The Neilson, Pier 2/3 on November 11.
