IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition Announces 2018 Semi-Finalists

The eleven semi-finalists of the 2018 IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition have been announced, following heats in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The National Adjudicator, Linnhe Robertson with assistance from local adjudicators, has selected these impressive young singers – sopranos Zoe Drummond, Shakira Tsindos and Cleo Lee-McGowan from Victoria, soprano Josie Ann Ellem and baritone Tristan Entwistle from New South Wales, sopranos Katherine McIndoe, Madison Nonoa, Pasquale Orchard, Sophie Sparrow and  Xenia Puskarz Thomas from New Zealand and mezzo-soprano Nicole Mealey from Western Australia – to progress to the Semi-Finals.

From lieder to opera the eleven semi-finalists will each sing two pieces accompanied by world-renowned accompanist and vocal coach, David Harper for a place in the finals. The semi-finals concert will be recorded by ABC Classic FM for delayed broadcast.
