Joan Carden Award: Entries Close May 1.

The Sydney University Graduate Choir is calling for entries for its 2015 Joan Carden Award. 

Talented young singers aged between 22 and 35 are invited to compete for the opportunity to perform as a soloist in one of the choir’s forthcoming concerts, along with a cash prize of $6000.

Previous winners of the Joan Carden Award who include sopranos Emma Moore (2009) and Rachel Bate (2010) and tenor Simon Gilkes (2009), have gone on to perform as soloists in the choir’s annual subscription concerts and to professional careers both in Australia and overseas. 

Entries can be submitted online at the Joan Carden Award website – sydneysings.com.au/jca – with audition recordings to be submitted by mail on CD. Entries close 1 May 2015.
