Musicus Medicus – The NSW Doctors Orchestra Plays Czechoslovakian Composers

Capture

Stay healthy over the weekend when eighty doctors from across NSW will swap their steths for strings – and other instruments – under the baton of Dr David Banney in a Musicus Medicus fundraising concert of music by Czechoslovakian composers.

Entitled Czech Mate, the program will feature music by Dvorak, Smetana, Janacek and Weinberger.  The highlight will be Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B minor performed by one of Australia’s most accomplished cellists and Sydney Eisteddfod’s Alumna David Pereira.

Proceeds will benefit Perinatal Research and Maternal Medicine (PRaMM) and fund the Sydney Eisteddfod NSW Doctors Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship that contributes to the cultural capital of the nation by helping outstanding young musicians to study abroad.
