New CD ‘Where Song Began’

Violinist Simone Slattery and cellist Anthony Albrecht have released a new CD themed around birdsong, Where Song Began. The tracks include classics like Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending and JS Bach’s Prelude from Cello Suite No.1, with traditional items like Ngarra Burra Ferra, a traditional Yorta Yorta hymn and contemporary works like Ross Edwards’ Ecstatic Dance No.2 and Simone Slattery’s In the Night.

Featuring an expanded and enhanced series of outstanding nature recordings, this CD combines the best aural elements of  their live performance on 11 tracks, with a stunning cover design, including graphics by David Lancashire and a 16-page booklet with notes by Simone, some of the poetry included in the show and photography by Muneer Al Shanti.
