Ricardo Gallén – Latin American Guitar Music Recital

Ricardo Gallen concert

En route to appear with the Adelaide Symphony at the Adelaide Guitar Festival, Ricardo Gallén, one of Spain’s great classical guitarists will be giving a one-off intimate solo recital in Sydney.

Ricardo Gallén will be performing a Latin American program including a piece written especially for him by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, along with works by Agustin Barrios, Antonio Lauro and the much-loved Prelude No. 1 by Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Born in Linares, Spain, Gallén began playing classical guitar at the age of four, performing in public just a year later. At the age of ten he entered the Conservatory of Music in Cordoba, embarking on a career which has taken him to the great concert halls of the world. In 2009 he was the youngest professorial appointment at the Franz Liszt Academy in Weimar.  His inspiring and innovative interpretations rank him as one of the most influential teachers and performers working today.

Presented by Trinity Grammar School’s Society of the Arts in association with the Cervantes Institute.

Light refreshments will be served after the concert.
