SIPCA Prize Winner Tony Lee To Tour

The winner of the Nancy Weir Best Australian Pianist Prize in the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, Tony Lee, returns to Australia from studies in the UK to present a short recital tour in November 2017.

Sydney born pianist Tony Lee is one of the most highly awarded pianists in the country. After completing his Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium with Dr. Rickard-Ford he became the first Australian musician to be invited as a soloist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium and continues to work with the renowned Portuguese pianist Maria-João Pires whilst completing a Master of Music in Performance at the Barratt-Due Institute in Norway with the German pianist Michael Endres. In  2013, he won first prize in Australia’s Lev Vlassenko  Competition and the Alexander Scriabin International Piano Competition in France, where in 2012 he also won the Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition.

Tony Lee has appeared as soloist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Queensland, Tasmanian and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras, and performs regularly across Europe, China, USA, New Zealand and Australia.
