Australia’s leading taiko drumming ensemble Taikoz will present a very special concert, Taikoz 20: Land-Sea-Sky-Home in celebration of a landmark 20 years of music making and performance.

Inspired by the themes of land, sea, sky and home, the four-part concert will feature the world premiere of two newly commissioned works along with solo performances from Taikoz co-founders Riley Lee and Ian Cleworth, and ensemble works drawn from Taikoz’s extensive repertoire.

Taikoz 20: Land-Sea-Sky-Home sees Taikoz perform a wide range of music for taiko (Japanese drums), percussion and voice, along with the sublime artistry of Riley Lee (shakuhachi/Japanese flute) and special guest artist Sandy Evans (saxophone), and the beguiling movement choreographed by Tai Chi master Chongwei Zhang.

20 takes you on a rich sonic and visual journey,” said Ian Cleworth, Artistic Director of Taikoz. “We are immensely proud of the achievements of Taikoz over the past two decades, and this is a celebration of our work that we couldn’t be more excited to share with our audience. And of course, in true Taikoz style, we’ll also be breaking new ground through truly exciting new collaborations with Sandy Evans and Chongwei Zhang.”

Tickets: A Reserve $65 (Concession $60), B Reserve $55 (Concession $50), VIP packages also available.
