The most fantasmagorical Chitty Chitty Bang flies in to Sydney

‘The most Fantasmagorical stage musical in the history of everything’ opens in Sydney this week!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the musical about a magic car based on the story by on other than Ian (James Bond) Fleming opens in Sydney this week.

Presented by Tim Lawson, the production will be directed by Roger Hodgman. The music and lyrics are by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman whose credits include songs from Mary Poppins, The Slipper and the Rose, The Jungle Book and the Disney theme It’s a Small World. Roald Dahl co-wrote the script for the movie, whose song was nominated for an Oscar. The Sydney production will have choreography by Dana Jolly and music direction by Peter Casey.

Tenor and recording artist David Hobson sings the role of Caractacus Potts, with Rachel Beck as  Truly Scrumptious. Baron Bomburst/Lord Scrumptious will be played by Alan Brough, much-loved as a panellist on the ABC music quiz show Spicks & Specks. Jennifer Vuletic will play Baroness Bomburst/Miss Phillips, Australian stage veteran Peter Carroll will play Grandpa Potts and comedian George Kapiniaris (Wogs out of Work) plays Goran with Tyler Coppin as Child Catcher/Junkman.  The Sydney production will have choreography by Dana Jolly and music direction by Peter Casey.
