The Orava Quartet is a young ensemble  fast making its mark in chamber music performance across USA, Asia and Australasia. 

Later this week they perform in Sydney under the auspices of the Trinity Grammar School’s Society of the Arts as part of its 2015 Concert Series.

Founded in 2007, the ensemble comprises brothers Daniel Kowalik (violin) and Karol Kowalik (cello) with David Dalseno (violin) and Thomas Chawner (viola).

Since their debut at the 2008 Musica Viva Festival in the AYO Chamber Players programme, they have gone from strength to strength notching up awards and critical acclaim. On the invitation of the Takács String Quartet, they spent two years as graduate quartet-in-residence at the University of Colorado and are currently Quartet-in-Residence at the Camerata of St John’s in Brisbane. As well, the Orava Quartet has held residencies at the Banff Arts Centre in Canada and the Bundanon Artist in Residence Complex in Australia.
