Bach Akademie Australia Performs On Melbourne Digital Concert Hall
Bach Akademie Australia presents ‘Bach’s Universal Light’ for Melbourne Digital Concert Hall, a journey from darkness into light through Bach’s universal genius, reflecting the difficult times for many of us this year. Performed in and broadcast from Sydney’s National Art School, ‘In memoriam’ for 2020, they begin with his haunting early cantata ‘Actus Tragicus’. Paring the music back to just one instrument, Bach’s solo works are featured drawing us towards a turning point of hope and light. No composition of his urges us onwards towards joy more than his Brandenburg Concerto no. 4.
